This week I largely focused on planning. We created a very detailed mind map covering all aspects of the game, from market research and target audience to level design and game mechanics. Alongside the mind map I created a lengthy research document and looked into all aspects of the game. The key things I looked at include level design, colour and shape theory, and boss fights. I know level design is going to be a massively important aspect of the game which is why I've made it my primary focus. I will continue researching level design for single player levels when I get around to creating them.


I also created a basic character model to start playtesting with, and animating. The model is around 600 triangles which is impressively low-poly. I could lower the triangle count more, but the model looks PS1 style already and I don't want to risk losing any more model or animation quality for the sake of 100 triangles.
